The four causes we flag:
- Classification diff — account is in section X in QB and section Y in GENUS (per-account ties, P&L totals don't). Most common after a COA migration.
- Value diff — same account, different total in the period. Look for missing or extra GL postings.
- Missing in GENUS — QB shows an account that doesn't exist in
chartmaster.
- Missing in QB — GENUS P&L has an account QB's P&L doesn't (often: classified as Balance Sheet in QB, P&L in GENUS, or vice versa).
