Use when TB ties but the Balance Sheet doesn't. Upload a QB Balance Sheet as of the same date you ran TB Compare on, and we'll diff every asset/liability/equity account.
The four causes we flag:
- Classification diff — account is under one BS section in QB (e.g. Fixed Assets) and another in GENUS (e.g. Other Current Assets). Per-account balances tie, section subtotals don't. Most common after a COA migration.
- Value diff — same account, different balance as of the date. Look for missing or extra GL postings.
- Missing in GENUS — QB shows an account that doesn't exist in
chartmaster.
- Missing in QB — GENUS has a BS account QB's Balance Sheet doesn't (zero-balance suppression in QB, or classified as P&L in one system and BS in the other).
If a QB→GENUS account code crosswalk is set in the GL Account Mapper, it's applied automatically before comparing.
